A place to learn
A place to lead
A place to belong
Here, we built Canada’s first mosque.
Here, we celebrate our culture and shape the community around us.
Here, we’re building a state-of-the-art school to educate the next generation of Muslim leaders.

Honoring Our Past, Present, and Future
Proudly Rooted in Canada’s History
The school of Canada’s first mosque
Edmonton Islamic Academy was established in 1987 in the basement of the Al Rashid Mosque, the first mosque in Canada. The school grew quickly and currently supports more than 1400 students from Preschool to Grade 12.
Celebrating Our Culture and Our Community
The #1 ranked school in Edmonton
We educate the next generation of Muslim leaders while preserving their religious and cultural identity. Students find the full expression of their Muslim faith through rigorous academics, community service projects, and active participation in leadership roles.
Building a Bright Future for Our Students
A new Campus to serve 1700+ students
Our new school building will meet the growing demands of Edmonton’s Muslim community and be a destination school for families seeking our distinctive combination of academic excellence and emphasis on Muslim faith and culture.
